Photographer: Sylvie Blum [link]

I regard Sylvie as one of the best female figure photographers in the world. She's a marvelous person and her the passion for her art really shines through her images.

I really love this shot. I think because both the arm and leg are at nearly right angles, it provides a little bit of...not quites sure of the right word...tension maybe? The right angles contrast the smoothness of the curves of the body. Since we don't normally associate the female form with "square" this shot provides a little bit of mystery and unfamiliarity...as noughtagroos said, the other shot, concavity, is easier and quicker to figure out what's going on. This shot holds a person's attention longer.

Capsular is "better" pose: I like the mood with right-angled effect.

I like Capsular better than Concavity. But both are good.

They are both great images but I like this one a better. The reason is that Concavity is easier to figure out because so much more of the pose is visible. It still looks extremely challenging, but it loses much of the mystery that this one has for me.

Because this one is framed so tightly, it instantly challenges the viewer to figure out exactly what's going on in the picture. That's always a good thing. I especially love the parallel lines formed by your right arm and thigh and the way they emphasize that such a large amount of your body is crammed into such a small space... as odd as this sounds, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it. I find it visually shocking in a very positive and artistic way.

Once again, you're pushing the limits of what's possible to achieve in a figure study. Great work!
