A spectacular and atmospheric piece that recalls both Rodin and Canova and the work of Spanish painter Velasquéz's "The Venus of Rockeby." [link]

The lighting is expertly placed to create extreme contrasts that emphasis the active sensuality of the pose by highlighting the body landmarks. This is no languid pose but one akin to depicting the body as an active architecture. I love the softly "marbled" circle of light in the center the underscores the torso with the brightest portion emphasizing the left flank of the upper torso and hip. The hairstyle recalls the signature tight updos of Canova's mythic figures that put a special focus on the neck. Another triumph for muse and artist! Kudos! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/c/c…" width="20" height="20" alt="" title="Clap" />
